Black Friday 2026 Dates in Australia
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Black Friday | Friday 27 November 2026 |
| Cyber Monday | Monday 30 November 2026 |
Amazon Australia and most retailers run their sales over several days around these dates rather than on the Friday alone, and the exact start and end dates are announced closer to the time. Check the sale page on the day.
We don't know in advance which kits will be reduced: sellers decide that themselves, and offers on smaller hobby brands can change from hour to hour. So this guide doesn't try to predict deals. It covers how to be ready, how to check that a deal is genuine, and a shortlist of kits we would watch.
Get Ready Before the Sale Starts
- Make a wish list now. Add the kits you're considering to an Amazon list. On the day you only need to check each one rather than search from scratch.
- Note what's included. Write down whether each kit comes with LED lights, batteries, glue, tools and a dust cover. A cheaper listing that leaves out the dust cover and batteries can cost you more in the end.
- Decide on scale. Furniture and accessories must match the house: 1:12 for most traditional dollhouses, 1:24 for many room kits. Our dollhouse scale guide explains the difference, and our free 1:12 scale rulers help you check a piece in person.
- Check the same kit under other names. Rolife, Robotime and ROKR are one company, and the same design is sometimes listed under two of those names. See Rolife vs Robotime vs ROKR.
How to Tell a Real Deal
- Look at the price history, not the "was" price. A free tracker such as CamelCamelCamel, which covers Amazon Australia, shows whether today's price is genuinely lower than the past few months or only lower than a recent increase.
- Compare the whole kit. Two listings of the same scene can differ in what's in the box. Check the piece count, lighting and dust cover, not just the photo.
- Check who sells and ships it. Items sold and shipped by Amazon Australia usually arrive faster than those sent from overseas sellers. If the kit is a Christmas present, the delivery estimate matters as much as the price.
- Read the returns details. A gift may be opened weeks after you buy it, so check the return window before you order.
Under Australian Consumer Law, a "was" price should be one the item was genuinely offered at for a reasonable time. If a reduction looks too good to be true, the price history will usually tell you.
Should You Wait for Black Friday?
If the kit is for Christmas, Black Friday works well: it leaves about four weeks for delivery and, for a book nook or room kit, time to wrap it with batteries and a pair of tweezers. If the kit is for a birthday in early November, or it's a model that tends to sell out, buying when you find a fair price is usually the safer choice.
If you'd like to give a kit that actually gets finished, match it to the person: a 1β3 hour book nook for a first build, a 6β10 hour library or a traditional dollhouse for someone who enjoys a long project. Our Christmas book nook and miniature kit gift guide and book nook gifts for book lovers go through this in more detail.
